Frequently Asked Questions

How many lessons will I need?

Training is a lifelong commitment, so there is no rule on how many lessons your dog will need.  There will always be ways to advance his skills and there will always be new things he can learn. It’s up to you to decide how far you’d like to take his training!

Can I bring multiple dogs to the same Private Training Lesson?

Yes! If the household has more than one dog, you can bring them to the same Private Training Lesson without incurring any additional fees.  Please note that your trainer might recommend bringing them separately for future lessons, depending on the dogs’ needs.

Do you offer make up classes if I am unable to attend all six sessions of a group class?

Clients have the option of scheduling a 30-minute Catch Up Lesson for $25 to meet with a trainer privately to go over the things that were missed in class. Catch Up Lessons are available only Tuesdays through Fridays.

If we took a training class somewhere else, do we have to start over or can we skip to a more advanced class?

We offer evaluations where a trainer can assess your dog’s obedience skills to determine if he is ready to skip to a more advanced class, or if he needs more practice and would benefit most from refreshing those skills in our Basic Skills class. Evaluations are $25 for 15 minutes and can be scheduled Tuesdays through Fridays.

If my dog is older than 5 months but still acts like a puppy, which group class should I take?

Our Basic Skills class is the best beginner class for dogs 5 months and older.

How young can my puppy start training?

Puppies are eligible to join our puppy programs as young as 8 weeks of age, as long as they have received at least two rounds of puppy shots and have a negative fecal test result from their vet. If you would like to get started sooner, please ask us about In-Home Private Training Lessons!
